The son of the homeowner had some disabilities that made it too difficult to use a tub, so it was replaced with a shower. The shower control is within reach of the curbless shower entry To save space, the linen closet was replaced with a tall cabinet with handy pull-out shelves. In need of updating to a more usable Hall Bath using Universal Design features and products. After removing the tub/shower and making the whole bathroom a wet room with a shower that is easy to use with a shower chair.

The small shower did not work well and was not accessible by the client who used a wheelchair after a stroke. This dysfunctional bath featured a huge tub in the middle of the pathway to the toilet and shower that was hard to pass through with a mobility aid. Now the shower is fully accessible for mobility aids and a heretofore unknown space at the foot of the shower was opened up for more room!   The decorative grab bars are to guide the user to and from the wheelchair which is parked right outside the shower. Accessible Master Bath

This 1960’s bath was in great need of renovation to be functional and accessible for the homeowner who uses a wheelchair.  The Master Bath was the first room to be designed for Accessibility to accommodate the new roll-in shower, open knee hole under the sink and the comfort height toilet. Extra space was borrowed from the closet in the study located behind the bathroom, to give the necessary depth to the enlarged shower.
